On the 30-year anniversary of the death of rock’n’roll star Roy Orbison, fans can relive his music with tribute artist Dean Bourne in Shepparton this week.
After completing a sold-out national tour last year, Bourne is back with a new show, Roy Orbison Reborn.
Bourne has spent more than 20 years perfecting his impersonation of Orbison and he will showcase his own talents and Orbison’s biggest hits at Riverlinks on Friday.
Orbison became famous with a string of hits in the early 1960s and toured the world with iconic artists such as The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones.
Orbison was known for his twists on rock ’n’ roll conventions, blending rock with classical music styles to create complex and introspective songs.
Many of his most famous songs were brooding ballads, such as Oh, Pretty Woman.
Roy Orbison Reborn is on at Riverlinks on Friday at 8pm. Tickets are $69.90 and are available from the Riverlinks box office on 58329511 or through the Riverlinks website.
